Together with our main character, we will visit a Slavic village near the Vohlyn castle to buy the appropriate weapons, necessary in the subsequent fight for the Czerven cities. What will be the result of the battle? What will be the fate of our warrior? The film story will answer all questions, and the reconstructed costumes and realistic scenes will move a thousand years back.

We invite you to learn the basic steps of old court dances. A series of four instructional videos prepared by the Belriguardo Early Dance Group will help us in this. We will learn the German allemande, the dignified Pavane, the lively galliard and the procession branle.

We will tell, among others, about old ornaments or calligraphy. However, we do not stop at theory – we encourage you to act and perform various works together – from medieval fortresses, through beads, embroidery, cut-outs, to old dolls. We attach tasks in the form of worksheets to the films. Don’t worry – we won’t be giving grades!

We build castles

In this episode, we will learn about the architectural elements of former castles. We will look at the foundations of the castle hill and try to build our own royal fortress.

We stick and roll. Beads

Together, we will go back in time to learn about old techniques of making beads. We will see what beads are in the collection of the National Museum in Lublin. We will be inspired by them and create our own – a simple but effective way that you can easily repeat in the comfort of your own home.

We embroider

This time we invite you to try your hand at embroidery with the cross stitch technique. We will provide unique patterns from the Lublin region, according to which you will be able to complete the canvas or … embroider something on cuff of your dad’s shirt.

We stamp

Where did the stamps come from? How were patterned fabrics and wall decorations made in the past? This episode will be full of colours and curiosities! We will show you various methods of making stamps and encourage you to try them out.

Get your paper and scissors! Cut-outs

We fold, cut, glue. Traditionally and modern. There will be no shortage of ready-made Lublin cut-outs, but we will also let our imagination run wild by designing our own cut-out pattern.

We create old documents. About calligraphy and seals

Do you know that Lublin will celebrate its 704^th birthday on 15 August? When celebrating the granting of municipal rights to our city, we will take a closer look at the former location document. We will learn the basics of calligraphy and try to write something with a gothic texture.

Sekcja Archeologii Muzeum Lubelskiego zadbała o to, aby nie siedzieć wyłącznie przed komputerami! Mimo że dalekie i egzotyczne wyjazdy są niewskazane, nic nie stoi na przeszkodzie, żeby wraz z rodzicami lepiej poznać swoją najbliższą okolicę. Dlatego wybraliśmy 10 archeolokacji, czyli zapomnianych średniowiecznych grodzisk, tajemniczych wież, ruin zamków czy współczesnych skansenów archeologicznych, które świadczą o długiej i bogatej historii naszego regionu. Niektóre są widoczne na pierwszy rzut oka, innych trzeba szukać w gąszczu drzew, niemniej wszystkie zasługują na Waszą uwagę i odkrycie!
