Figurines for the game Liszki were planed from wood in the form of flat oval leaves with incised edges, 4.5-6 cm long and 1.5-2 cm wide. Playing with them was a kind of pebble game. The leaves were placed on an open palm, tossed and caught on the back of an upturned palm. It was obligatory to catch an even number, or as follows: With both kinds of throws, after an unsuccessful capture (when nothing was captured or an unmatched or unspecified number was captured), the whiskers passed into the hands of the next player, according to the order initially established. The player whose throw was unsuccessful would repeat the throw in the next turn until it was done correctly. Sometimes a reverse throw was used, i.e. from the back of the hand to the flat open hand.In addition to toys that were simple in form but constructed with a rich child's imagination (see E/180/ML, E/190/ML, E/544/ML, E/1649/ML, E/2146/ML, E/17030/ML), figurines for tossing games were developed. The most developed and widespread were bierki lubartowskie (see E/220/ML). Similar to them were liszki. Dice were less commonly played - originally cattle dice, on which several surfaces were distinguished and points were counted according to which surface the die fell on. Bowling and baseball were also common.Peasant children's toys were simple, unsophisticated in shape, usually made by their parents - though more often by grandparents who had time to carve them - or by the children themselves. Rural children did not spend much time playing. While grazing geese or cattle, doing field work or keeping an eye on their younger siblings, they ran around the fields and meadows, enjoying their freedom and using randomly found objects for play: pebbles, leaves, twigs. They also made the simplest toys on their own - they carved them out of bark or wood, made them out of clay or glued them together from other materials.
