Popularizing note

In January 1923, on the 60th anniversary of the January Uprising, Polish cities held celebrations organised by previously appointed committees. Scouts from Lublin also joined the celebrations. The members of the 7th Andrzej Małkowski Men's Scout Troop at the Lublin School prepared a rich programme of events, which was announced in a leaflet produced in the local printing house of Józef Popiel at 60 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.Among the performers was Scout Stanislaw Magierski, a future pharmacist, composer, and member of the Home Army. He was one of the co-founders of the Lublin Photographic Society, and the author of the popular song I Can't Come to You Today, also known as Forest Lullaby.During the ceremony in 1923, Magierski played compositions by Fryderyk Chopin on the piano. Pieces by Beethoven and Verdi were played on the violin by Eugeniusz Jakimow, a future graduate of the Hetman Jan Zamoyski Secondary School in Lublin. There were also recitations of poetic works. The whole event was to be preceded by a ceremonial singing of the song Poland Has Not Died Yet by a scout choir.
